MIDI (.mid) is a universal protocol that records musical performance data — which notes are played, how hard, how long, with what expression — rather than audio waveforms. This means you can open our files in any DAW (Logic, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, Studio One) and edit every single note, change instruments, adjust tempo, or fix timing. Unlike MP3 or WAV, MIDI is pure musical data that you have full control over.
Suno and Udio generate finished audio (MP3/WAV). If a single note is wrong, you must regenerate the entire track and hope for a better result. MelodyCraft generates raw MIDI data — every note, velocity, and controller event is editable in your DAW. You can change the key, swap instruments, fix timing, or rearrange sections without regenerating. Think of it as the difference between receiving a printed photo vs. a layered Photoshop file.
Any DAW that supports standard MIDI files. That includes: Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, Studio One, Pro Tools, Reaper, Bitwig Studio, and more. Our MIDI files follow the standard format with separate tracks for each instrument.
On the free plan, the MIDI is for evaluation purposes only. On a paid plan, options will range from commercial use to rights transfer — we'll share full details at launch. Because the MIDI is generated from your prompts, another user with similar ideas could independently receive a similar result — but we will never share your file.
